Reflecting on getting older, I might ponder here for a bit.

Reflecting on getting older, I might ponder here for a bit.

As I am now another year older, I have been thinking or pondering, as I say. I started writing my daily sojourns nearly twenty-five years ago. I first used a YAHOO group, then Myspace, and graduated to WordPress and Facebook. I woke up today, perhaps the dreary weather is making my arthritis act up, stiff and out of sorts. The miracle of technology provided me this morning with a boost as I received a FaceTime call from my granddaughter. I had a happy birthday song, and it was shown my present, which she had drawn for me.

I enjoy reading and using Ralph Waldo Emerson in my writing; perhaps I am an existentialist. I try to encourage all my students in elementary, high school, and college to read and write as much as they can.

“Nothing can bring you peace but yourself.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

So, while my day is changing as I write, my plans today are simple: read and prepare for a college course I am taking. I will write a bit on a chapter I am writing for a possible Foxfire book and spend time with my wife. I have a feeling we are going shopping after my granddaughter’s soccer game. I truly want to thank all who have sent birthday wishes, and may you all have a blessed and peaceful day. Please keep all in harm’s way on your mind and in your heart, and be sure to always give thanks, namaste.

My family and friends, I do not say this lightly,

PS. It has been an interesting life as I look back. I have so many fond memories of all the things I recalled while out driving chasing a sunrise this morning, slot car racing back when I was about 13 or so. That had not come up for some time. Memories are precious if only we could save them like we save photos on a hard drive.
